BLUE FORGE RECRUITMENT is seeking an experienced Retail Assistant Manager for a Laois store. You will support the Store Manager, drive sales, and uphold high standards in fresh food operations.

The role requires 3-4 years in fresh food retail management, strong hygiene practices, and the ability to lead a motivated team. Located near Portlaoise, the store offers a competitive€36,000-€40,000 salary plus a €2k bonus, full-time contract, staff discounts, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of fresh food retail management experience in a fast-paced store.
• Food safety and hygiene management experience, ideally certified.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience monitoring sales and KPIs.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
• Experience in stock control, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Ability to work independently and support the Store Manager.
• Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operation of a busy retail store.
• Monitor sales performance, analyse results, and implement strategies to hit targets.
• Oversee stock management, deliveries, replenishment, and inventory accuracy.
• Support promotional campaigns, product launches, and commercial initiatives.
• Manage cash handling, till operations, and end-of-day reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Assist with staff scheduling and shift planning.
• Lead a customer-focused, professional team culture.
