Join us as a Fraud Analyst
The Fraud Analyst will support the business in identifying,investigating and preventing fraud across Three Ireland's customer and productjourneys.
The role will combine fraud investigation, data analysis,monitoring and control improvement, helping to identify emerging fraud trendsand ensure appropriate controls are in place across customer acquisition,orders and account activity.
The successful candidate will work closely with Fraud,Credit Risk, Finance, Technology, Data and Commercial teams to protectcustomers and the business from financial loss and evolving fraud threats.
This is a hands-on analytical role suited to someone who isnaturally curious, enjoys investigating unusual activity and wants to develop acareer in fraud and risk.
What else it involves:
Fraud Monitoring & Investigation
- Monitorcustomer and transaction activity for indicators of fraudulent behaviour.
- Investigatepotentially fraudulent orders, accounts and customer activity.
- Escalatesignificant or emerging fraud risks to the appropriate member of the Fraud& Credit Risk Team.
Fraud Analysis & Insight
- Analysefraud performance and identify trends, patterns and emerging threats.
- Produceregular reporting and MI covering fraud volumes, losses, acceptance rates,detection rates and other key performance indicators.
- Investigatechanges in fraud rates or customer behaviour and identify potential rootcauses.
- Supportanalysis of fraud by product, channel, journey, customer segment and otherrelevant dimensions.
- Usedata to identify opportunities to improve fraud detection and reduceunnecessary customer friction.
- Supportad-hoc analysis and investigations requested by the Fraud & CreditRisk team.
Fraud Rules & Controls
- Supportthe review and optimisation of fraud rules and controls.
- Monitorthe performance of existing fraud controls and identify where improvementsmay be required.
- Assistwith testing new fraud rules, strategies and system changes.
- Analysefalse positives and identify opportunities to improve the balance betweenfraud prevention and customer experience.
- Supportthe implementation and monitoring of new fraud controls in response to emerging threats.
- Maintainappropriate documentation of fraud controls and their intended purpose.
Emerging Fraud Threats
- Support investigations into new threats such as account takeover, identity fraud,synthetic identity, eSIM fraud, SIM swap and social engineering.
- Sharerelevant findings and intelligence with the wider Fraud & Credit Riskteam.
- Helpidentify new indicators that could be incorporated into fraud detectionstrategies.
- Supportthe team in responding quickly to significant changes in fraud patterns.
Data & Reporting
- Extract,manipulate and analyse fraud-related data from relevant business systems.
- Usetools such as SQL, Excel and Power BI to investigate and communicatefindings.
- Translateanalytical findings into clear, practical recommendations fornon-technical stakeholders.

- Experiencein an analytical, investigative, risk, fraud or financial servicesenvironment.
- Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellentattention to detail and an ability to identify unusual patterns orinconsistencies.
- StrongExcel skills and confidence working with data.
- Abilityto investigate a problem, establish the relevant facts and reach a logicalconclusion.
- Goodwritten and verbal communication skills.
- Abilityto explain analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technicalaudiences.
- Strongorganisational skills and ability to manage multiple investigations orpriorities.
- Acurious mindset and willingness to challenge unusual activity.
Desirable
- Experienceworking in fraud, financial crime, payments, telecommunications or anotherrisk environment.
- Experienceusing SQL.
- Experiencewith Power BI or similar reporting/visualisation tools.
- Experienceworking with fraud detection or decisioning platforms.
- Experienceinvestigating account takeover, identity fraud, payment fraud orsubscription fraud.
- Knowledgeof fraud prevention techniques, rules-based decisioning or customerauthentication.
- Experienceworking in an Agile environment.
