Talbot Hotel Cork is recruiting an experienced Conference and Banqueting Porter to ensure guests receive a warm, memorable welcome and to support meetings and events.

You will set up rooms, liaise with front office, assist other departments and maintain 4-star standards, while upholding hygiene and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time in proper uniform.
• Adhere to clocking procedures.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
• Set up, break down and reset meeting/event rooms; liaise with front office; deliver room service; assist other departments.
• Follow hygiene regulations.
• Oversee upkeep of public and staff areas.
• Anticipate guest needs at all times.
• Uphold 4-star service standards and customer relations policy.
• Adhere to Fire, Safety and Health & Safety at work act 2005.
• Report incidents or damages and take action where possible.
• Follow staff handbook policies and SOPs.
• Protect company money, goods, and assets.
• Report customer comments to Management.
• Be proactive in energy efficiency.
• Maintain good working relationships with staff and management.
• Carry out duties in the SOP manual.
• Deal with customer complaints professionally; notify Management.
• Upsell company products and services where possible.
• Any other sundry tasks within scope.
