Job summary

eir Business Talent in Dublin City is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer specializing in Fortinet to join an immediate day-rate contract on a hybrid model (min. 3 days on-site).

You will administer Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls, Fortinet Proxy, and BAU security operations to ensure high availability and threat protection. The role requires 5+ years in network security, a relevant degree, strong English communication, and the ability to document configurations and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive professional experience in network security engineering, firewall administration, and IT infrastructure.
• Strong, demonstrable hands-on professional expertise in Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls and security appliance management.
• Comprehensive working knowledge and practical proficiency in Fortinet Proxy administration and secure web gateway configuration.
• Deep practical experience in BAU network security operations, administration, and incident response.
• Solid practical experience in firewall rule lifecycle management, NAT configurations, and VPN connectivity.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with strong technical documentation and collaboration abilities.
• Mandatory legal work eligibility and physical availability for an immediate day-rate contract on a hybrid model (min. 3 days on-site) in Dublin City.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, tune, and maintain enterprise Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls and security appliances.
• Manage Fortinet Proxy services, web filtering policies, and secure web gateway architectures.
• Execute BAU network security administration, firewall rule optimization, and access control governance.
• Monitor network security event logs, analyze traffic anomalies, and investigate potential security breaches.
• Implement and maintain IPS, VPNs, and perimeter defenses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT infrastructure, network engineering, and cybersecurity squads.
• Participate in security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation tracking workflows.
• Maintain technical documentation of firewall configurations, network diagrams, and runbooks.
