Job summary

Network Engineer (Daily Rate Contract)

Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their team on a long-term daily rate contract based in Dublin City Centre. This role requires 5 days per week onsite and will play a key role in the design, support, optimisation and security of critical network infrastructure across a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and manage LAN, WAN, WLAN and enterprise network infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain routing, switching, wireless and network security technologies.
• Administer firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation and secure remote access solutions.
• Monitor network performance, availability and security, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Investigate and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability remediation and incident response activities.

Required Experience

• 5+ years' experience in Network Engineering within enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs and wireless networking.
• Experience managing enterprise firewall and network security technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across complex network infrastructures.
• Experience supporting multi-site environments.
• Exposure to Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Cisco Meraki switches, wireless and SD-WAN solutions.
• Knowledge of network access control, 802.1X and RADIUS.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Security+, Network+ or equivalent.
