Job summary

Old Lodge Gastro Pub in Shannon, Co. Clare, Ireland is seeking an energetic Food & Beverage assistant on a part-time/full-time basis.

The role involves delivering excellent guest service, preparing the restaurant for service, and maintaining knowledge of the menu, allergens, and wine. Applicants should have 1+ years in a busy F&B environment, a passion for hospitality, strong presentation and communication skills, and be willing to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistently high standard of customer service, greet guests on arrival and thank them on departure.
• Prepare the restaurant for service, ensure setup meets required standards.
• Maintain knowledge of menus, daily specials, allergens and wine, and make recommendations.
• Follow procedures for service, including billing, receipts, and signing charges.
• Comply with food hygiene, health & safety, and fire safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant during and after service, and reset for next shift.
• Participate in training and work in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service, welcoming guests on arrival and thanking them on departure.
• Prepare the restaurant for service, ensuring all set-up is completed to the required standards.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of food and drink menus, including daily specials, allergens, and wine offerings, with the ability to make recommendations to guests.
• Follow hotel procedures for the service of food and beverages, including accurate billing, receipts, and charge signing where applicable.
• Comply fully with food hygiene, health & safety, and fire safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant during and after service, including resetting for the next service period.
• Participate in training as required and work in line with company standards and policies.

The ideal candidate

• A minimum of 1+ years' experience in a high volume/fast paced Food & Beverage environment isdesirable.
• Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to a long-term career in the field.
• Team player with the ability to multi task and have excellent presentation skills with a fine eye for detail.
• Excellent personal presentation/grooming to represent our brand professionally at all times.
• A true people person who can deliver exceptional customer service with confidence and professionalism.
• A warm, friendly, positive, and approachable personality when dealing with fellow staff and guests.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
• Be adaptable and willing to work a variety of shifts, including midweek, late evenings & weekends as per operational requirements.
• Have full permission or hold a valid visa to work in the EU.
