Job summary

The Heritage, a luxury hotel and spa in Laois, Ireland, is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Assistant to join our Conference and Banqueting Team. The role requires availability to work shifts including early, late, weekends and bank holidays.

You will greet guests, maintain your station, carry out mise en place, take orders, and promote products to maximise sales while ensuring high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

Greet guests with a smile and provide a warm welcome.
Maintain a clean and tidy station at all times.
Carry out mise en place for service, including setting tables and stocking stations.
Take orders and promote products to maximise sales.
Serve guests professionally and efficiently.
Ensure high cleanliness standards in bar and restaurant.
Handle guest complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
Have knowledge of wines, spirits and menu items.
Be flexible with hours (early, late, weekends and bank holidays).

Responsibilities

To greet all guests with a smile, eye contact and a greeting if appropriate.
To maintain your station in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
To carry-out mise en place for service, i.e., setting tables, stocking stations, preparing tea / coffee etc.
To correctly clear, polish and store crockery, cutlery and glassware to minimise breakages and loss, while maintaining standards.
To correctly take customer orders maximising and promoting sales by recommending products where appropriate.
To serve all our guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
To ensure cleanliness levels are maintained to a high standard in the bar and restaurant.
To deal with any customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
To have knowledge of wines, spirits and the menu items.
To handle guest’s complaints discretely, escalating to management where required.
Any other duties as reasonably required by management.

We are have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Food and Beverage Assistant to join our Conference and Banqueting Team! The successful candidate must be available to work shifts to include early, late, weekends & bank holidays.
