Job summary

Vickerstock is recruiting a Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer for Dublin, Cork or Limerick. You''ll deliver flood risk and hydraulic modelling for public and private sector clients across Ireland, within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Technical Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience in hydrology or flood risk assessment.
  • Experience with 1D/2D hydraulic modelling.
  • Proficiency in GIS (QGIS) or similar.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking hydrological and hydraulic assessments for a broad range of infrastructure and development projects.
  • Developing 1D and 2D hydraulic models using industry-standard software.
  • Preparing Site-Specific Flood Risk Assessments (including Stage 3 assessments).
  • Applying FSR, FSU and other recognised hydrological methodologies.
  • Producing high-quality technical reports and supporting project documentation.
  • Using GIS software for spatial analysis, mapping and flood modelling.
  • Working closely with civil, environmental and transportation engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Supporting the delivery of sustainable engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with Irish flood risk guidance and relevant legislation.

Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer (Dublin, Cork or Limerick) | €45,000 - €60,000

Your new role as Hydrologist / Flood Modelling Engineer

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll contribute to the delivery of flood risk and hydraulic modelling projects for both public and private sector clients across Ireland.

Requirements
  • Technical Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in hydrology, hydraulic modelling or flood risk assessment within an engineering consultancy or similar environment.
  • Experience using software such as: TUFLOW, Flood Modeller Pro, MIKE, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks GIS experience using QGIS or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of Irish flood risk management guidance and regulatory requirements.
  • Personal Excellent written report writing skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management ability.
  • Collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for sustainable engineering and continuous professional development.
