Job summary

Conack, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing construction firms, seeks an experienced Finishing Foreperson for a project in Youghal, Co. Cork. You will own the finishing phase, driving high-quality finishes on time and within budget while managing subcontractors and ensuring safety.

You will oversee snagging, inspections, ITPs, and handover processes, collaborating with the Site Manager to maintain programme and deliver a snag-free finish for a landmark project in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Finishing Foreperson or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of finishing works and quality control.
• Carpentry background desirable.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
• Eye for detail and commitment to high-quality finishes.
• Understanding of snagging, inspections, ITPs, and handover processes.
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee finishing stages from first fix to completion.
• Deliver high-quality finishes across all elements of the works.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and trades daily.
• Carry out regular quality inspections and checks.
• Ensure works are aligned with drawings, specifications, and programme.
• Manage and close out snagging lists.
• Monitor mock-ups, sample panels and first-kind installations.
• Coordinate trades to ensure correct sequencing.
• Work with the Site Manager and project team to maintain programme.
• Support BCAR inspections, handover and completion processes.
• Ensure all works are carried out safely and per company procedures.

We are looking for an experienced Finishing Foreperson to join our team on a construction project based in Youghal, Co. Cork. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the finishing phase of the project, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards, snag‑free, on time, and within budget.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the finishing stages of the project from first fix through to completion

• Deliver high-quality finishes across all elements of the works

• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and trades on a daily basis

• Carry out regular quality inspections and checks

• Ensure works are completed in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements

• Manage and close out snagging lists

• Monitor mock-ups, sample panels, and first‑of‑kind installations

• Coordinate trades to ensure works are completed in the correct sequence

• Work closely with the Site Manager and wider project team to maintain programme

• Support BCAR inspections, handover, and completion processes

• Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures

What We're Looking For
