Job summary

Darwin Hawkins is recruiting on behalf of a leading Irish pharma business for a Financial Controller role in Dublin West. The position is hybrid with responsibilities across the finance function, reporting to the Director of Finance.

You will own month-end close, statutory reporting, and financial controls while guiding a finance team through change. The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with 5+ years post-qualification experience, strong statutory and tax knowledge, and proven ability

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with 5+ years post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller or senior financial reporting role.
• Strong knowledge of statutory reporting, audit, tax compliance and financial controls.
• Experience managing and developing finance teams; proactive, commercially minded with stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, statutory reporting, and financial control activities across the business.
• Manage the annual audit, financial statements and Irish tax compliance obligations.
• Oversee treasury, cashflow forecasting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Develop and strengthen financial controls, governance, and finance processes.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial insight for decision-making.
• Support strategic finance projects, process improvements, and organizational change initiatives.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to senior leadership and the Board.

• Strong ERP systems knowledge (SAP experience advantageous) together with advanced Excel skills
• A proactive, commercially minded approach with excellent stakeholder management skills
