Job summary

The Anner Hotel in Thurles, Co. Tipperary, seeks a Financial Controller to oversee all aspects of the Finance function, working with the General Manager and senior team to hit KPI targets, manage monthly accounts, cashflow and annual budgets.

ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualified with 5+ years PQE and excellent Excel/industry systems experience (Sage, Hotsoft, Procure Wizard, Timepoint) are required. Hospitality experience is an advantage; competitive salary and Windward career opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA qualified with minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
• Excellent Excel skills; computer literate with multiple systems experience – Sage, Hotsoft, Procure Wizard and Timepoint

Responsibilities

• Oversee and control all aspects of the Finance function of the Hotel.
• Prepare Monthly Management Accounts including Profit & Loss, KPI’s, Balance Sheet reconciliation and Cashflow forecast.
• Lead review and update forecasts for revenue and costs; identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare costings of all Capital projects for approval by Head Office.
• Monitor internal controls and maximise profitability through strict controls and strategic input.
• Manage Cashflows and ensure timely bank payments.
• Income Audit management and preparation of ad hoc reports for Management and Head Office.
• Prepare annual Budgets and support year-end audit.

About The Anner Hotel

The Anner Hotel is a 4 star hotel located in Thurles, mid-way between the cities of Cork and Dublin and is only 1.5 hours from all major cities. In the heart of Tipperary, the Anner Hotel offers great accommodation with 92 guest rooms all tastefully decorated in restful tones, fine casual dining in Ed Bistro and Seasons Restaurant, private dining, conference suites and an extensive award-winning Leisure Centre with an 18-metre pool.

Role and Responsibilities:

Oversee and control all aspects of the Finance function of the Hotel.

• Work closely with the General Manager and the Senior team ensuring all HOD’s are aware of expected KPI’s including wages, GP’S and departmental margins.
• Prepare Monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines which include Profit & Loss, KPI’S, Balance Sheet reconciliation, and Cashflow forecast.
• Lead review and update forecasts for both revenue and costs. Identify risks and opportunities that may affect the financial performance of the hotel.
• Prepare costings of all Capital projects for approval by Head Office.
• Monitor all Group internal controls to ensure they are being maintained and robust.
• Maximise profitability of the Hotel through commercial awareness, strict controls and input into key strategic decisions.
• Manage Cashflows ensuring bank payments fall within schedule.
• Income Audit management ensuring accuracy and no leakage of cash.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for Management and Head office.
• Preparation of annual Budgets
• Responsible for annual Audit and maintenance of files for Group internal review.

About the role

Candidate Requirements:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA qualified with minimum 5 years post qualification experience.

• Excellent excel skills, computer literate with multiple systems experience – Sage, Hotsoft, Procure Wizard and Timepoint
• Previous experience in hospitality is an advantage
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
• Able to coach team members
• Well-presented and approachable with impeccable attention to detail essential for this role
