Job summary

The Fleet Hotel in Dublin is seeking a Financial Controller to lead all finance functions, deliver timely management reports, and uphold strong internal controls across a vibrant hospitality business.

The role requires a qualified accountant with 4+ years post-qualification experience, solid Excel skills, and experience with Sage/Hotsoft/Procure Wizard/Timepoint; hospitality experience is an advantage and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent).
  • 4+ years post-qualification experience in finance roles.
  • Strong Excel skills and broad IT proficiency in multiple systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial operations and deliver timely management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce monthly management accounts with variance analysis and budgets.
  • Manage cash flow, balance sheets, fixed assets, and capital expenditure.
  • Supervise accounts team covering cash, bank, debtors, creditors and payroll.
  • Provide weekly financial performance updates and payroll cost reporting.
  • Coordinate tax submissions and statutory filings with Revenue and CRO.
  • Maintain banking relationships and insurance policies.

About The Fleet

The Fleet Hotel is a wonderful boutique style Hotel located in the centre of Dublin on the edge of Temple Bar. It comprises of some beautiful period buildings including the iconic Bewleys Café, much loved by Dubliner’s for decades. The Fleet Hotel is synonymous with local Dublin history, before becoming the Fleet Hotel, 19/20 Fleet Street was home to Bewley’s Café which was established by Ernest Bewley in 1905. Bewleys were known to be one of the finest Tea Houses in Europe and a favourite with Dubliner’s for generations.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Lead Financial Operations: Oversee all finance functions and deliver timely, accurate management reports.
  • Ensure Compliance: Monitor internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements across the business.
  • Produce Management Accounts: Prepare monthly accounts with variance analysis, budgets, and rolling forecasts.
  • Manage Cash & Assets: Control cash flow, reconcile balance sheets, maintain fixed asset register, and track capital expenditure.
  • Team & Department Oversight: Supervise accounts team handling cash, bank, debtors, creditors, and payroll.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide weekly updates on financial performance, forecasts, and payroll costs.
  • Tax Liaison: Ensure tax submissions, and statutory filings with Revenue and CRO.
  • Banking & Insurance: Ensure banking compliance, quarterly reporting, and maintain licenses and insurance policies.
About The Role
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
  • 4+ years post-qualification experience
  • Good excel skills, computer literate with multiple systems experience – Sage, Hotsoff, Procure Wizard and Timepoint
  • Previous experience in hospitality is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
