Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally in hospitality, retail or other fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
  • Manage and oversee banking, cash management, and related financial processes.
  • Maintain the nominal ledger, ensuring all accounts are accurately recorded and fully reconciled.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring efficient and timely processing.
  • Manage payroll and wage processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payment.
  • Monitor and manage stock control processes, identifying variances and implementing appropriate controls.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial reports and management accounts.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and accounting standards.
  • Provide management with meaningful financial insights, analysis, and performance reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and overall business performance.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with management and wider teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
