Job summary

Barden in Wicklow seeks a Financial Accountant on a 6-12 month contract to deliver reliable financial reporting and insights. You will use data tools to analyze performance, automate processes, and support decision-making.

You will manage month-end activities, support budgeting and forecasting, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive cost optimisation and continuous improvement while strengthening controls and assisting audits.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years' experience in a medium-to-large commercial environment with strong analytical capability.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end financial activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and management reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with clear analysis and commentary on variances.
• Prepare and deliver financial and operational reports with meaningful insights for decision-making.
• Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to understand performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Contribute to process improvement, KPI development, controls strengthening and audits.

Barden are delighted to assist a successful Irish business based in Wicklow to help identify a Financial Accountant to join the team on a 6-12 month contract.

This person will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and insights to support decision-making, while leveraging systems and data tools to improve reporting efficiency, automate processes, and drive continuous improvement.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Manage month-end financial activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing clear analysis and commentary on financial performance and key variances.
• Prepare and deliver financial and operational reports that provide meaningful insights to support business decision-making.
• Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to understand performance, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Contribute to process improvement and transformation initiatives, developing relevant KPIs, strengthening controls, and supporting audit activities.

ABOUT THE PERSON

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience in a medium-to-large commercial environment with strong analytical and financial systems expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, collaborate effectively across teams, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
