Job summary

You will work closely with auditors, tax advisers and senior finance stakeholders to enhance controls and reporting. Strong IFRS/FRS102 knowledge, meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong financial reporting and statutory accounting experience
• Practical group consolidation experience
• Experience working within a multi-entity environment
• Good knowledge of FRS 102 and/or IFRS
• Experience preparing audit files and liaising with external auditors
• Exposure to VAT and corporation tax compliance
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills

Responsibilities

• Preparation of group consolidated financial results and reporting packs
• Preparation and review of consolidation journals, intercompany eliminations and reconciliations
• Supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements and year-end accounts
• Managing audit schedules, working papers and responding to external audit queries
• Reviewing financial information submitted by individual entities for accuracy and consistency
• Supporting month-end and year-end reporting including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with technical accounting matters as required
• Supporting VAT, corporation tax and other tax compliance requirements
• Assisting with year-end tax reporting and relevant supporting schedules
• Liaising with auditors, tax advisers and other stakeholders
• Supporting ongoing improvements to financial controls, reporting and finance processes
• Identifying opportunities to use automation, data and technology to improve reporting and efficiency

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join the group finance function of an established and growing organisation.

This is a broad technical accounting position with exposure across group reporting, consolidations, statutory accounts, audit and tax. It would particularly suit someone who enjoys the technical side of finance and is looking for a role where they can take greater ownership while continuing to develop within a group environment.

The Role

Working as part of the wider finance team, responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of group consolidated financial results and reporting packs

The Person

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting background.

Ideally, you will have:

• Strong financial reporting and statutory accounting experience
• Practical group consolidation experience
• Experience working within a multi-entity environment
• Good knowledge of FRS 102 and/or IFRS
• Experience preparing audit files and liaising directly with external auditors
• Exposure to VAT and corporation tax compliance
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively to reporting deadlines
• A proactive approach with an interest in improving processes and adopting new technology
