Job summary

Recruitment Plus is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant on a 12-14 month maternity cover contract. The role supports the finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller, and ensures compliance with UK GAAP and corporate policies. Hybrid work arrangements are available with two days WFH.

The successful candidate will manage fixed asset registers, balance sheet accuracy, VAT/RCT returns, and statutory accounts coordination, while upholding stringent financial controls.

Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle finance system is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Financial Accountant- Contract, Position 12-14 months - Maternity Leave Cover Salary: € 60k- €65K Location: Monaghan/ North Dublin - Either sites( Hybrid, 2 days WFH) Ref: S12027 Description of Role: Our client is now seeking a experienced Financial Accountant to join their growing team on either sites in North Dublin or Monaghan. This role is to develop and support financial accounting and reporting agenda in line with key defined milestones. To work alongside the financial controller and the finance team to maintain financial controls and compliance in line with business policies/processes and legal requirements

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Company systems and Finance working practices

• Relevant Financial Qualification (Relevant degree, ACCA/CIMA)
• Experience in Oracle finance system
• Knowledge of Finance Legislation

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Management of fixed asset registers & period depreciation calculations.
• Management of the balance sheet and cash book.
• Monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts
• Year end tax packs preparations
• Completion of VAT/RCT Returns
• Assist with the annual statutory accounts and liaising external auditors
• Month end Jnls (accruals, unbilled revenue, salary jnls etc)
• Review weekly and monthly
• Salaries
• Review Payment runs
• Maintaining and developing financial controls to progressively ensure 100% compliance & zero audit issues.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Analyse financial data and identify variances or trends.

Reporting & Compliance:

• Produce the monthly financial management report for Directors with appropriate commentary.
• Completion of VAT Returns, EC Sales List and all ONS returns.
• Completion of the annual statutory accounts and liaising external auditors.

People Management:

• Adhoc: Support one-off requests from the Financial Controller and other members of the Leadership/ Management Team.
