Job summary

Darwin Hawkins in Limerick is seeking an ambitious qualified accountant to join a specialist international professional services firm focused on accounting, audit and assurance for financial services clients.

You will manage client relationships, support financial reporting, lead a small team and work with Partners on complex issues, with opportunities to progress into leadership and international exposure.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with 1–3 years' PQE.
• Experience in financial services, ideally investment funds or asset management.
• Strong technical accounting, financial reporting or external audit experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Commercial mindset, strong organisational skills and interest in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Client Relationship Management: be the key contact for clients and ensure high service standards.
• Financial Reporting: review financial statements and support complex reporting engagements.
• Portfolio Management: manage a portfolio of client engagements and meet deadlines.
• Team Leadership: supervise and develop junior team members and support their progression.
• Technical Accounting: identify and resolve accounting and audit matters with senior colleagues.
• Stakeholder Engagement: work with Partners, Directors and international stakeholders.
• Audit & Assurance: oversee external audits from planning to completion.
• Process Improvement: contribute to improvements in reporting processes and methodologies.

• Client Relationship Management: Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring a high standard of service
• Financial Reporting: Reviewing financial statements and supporting the delivery of complex financial reporting engagements
• Portfolio Management: Managing a portfolio of client engagements, coordinating deliverables and ensuring deadlines are met
• Team Leadership: Supervising and developing junior team members, providing guidance and supporting their professional development
• Technical Accounting: Identifying and resolving accounting and audit matters, working closely with senior colleagues on complex issues
• Stakeholder Engagement: Working directly with Partners, Directors and international stakeholders
• Audit & Assurance: Overseeing external audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with professional standards
• Process Improvement: Contributing to improvements in reporting processes, internal methodologies and overall service delivery
