Job summary

Azon in Dublin is seeking a Chartered Accountant to lead financial reporting for a growing property development and investment group. You will own quarterly management accounts, statutory statements and robust controls, reporting to the Finance Director.

The role also spans budgeting, tax filings, and coordination with external advisers, with opportunities to take on broader responsibilities over time. The ideal candidate has several years PQE, strong numerical skills, and meticulous attention

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant from industry or practice, with strong academics, and several years PQE.
  • Willing to work on a broad range of tasks, from routine/administrative to complex.
  • Strong analytical ability, with excellent numerical skills.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts.
  • Financial oversight of property development projects.
  • Preparation of statutory consolidated and individual financial statements.
  • Driving and coordinating the budgeting and forecasting working capital process.
  • Liaising with auditors and managing the audit process.
  • Ongoing modernisation of the Finance function.
  • Assisting with the timely filing of tax and company returns.
  • Continuously improving financial processes.
  • Assisting in implementing new financial processes and controls.
  • Developing and managing relationships with bankers, tax and legal advisers.
  • Support ongoing project finance and investment related activities.

Azon has been retained by a Dublin based, Irish owned, growing property development and investment group that has an excellent track record of achievement in Ireland.

Current activities include acquisition and development of diverse real estate assets including Residential, Student Accommodation, Retail, Hotels, Office and Healthcare nationwide. The group has recently achieved successful planning for a number of exciting strategic mixed use projects to add to their existing portfolio.

Led by accomplished and renowned entrepreneurs with backing from a well-funded investor group, this role represents an excellent career developmental opportunity for a high-quality Chartered Accountant to work with true experts in Real Estate Financing, Legal, Tax and Accounting.

The Role:

This role is a key position within the group and will provide the opportunity to work with a tight-knit team that are renowned for their excellent business acumen, investment success, and professionalism.

Reporting to the Finance Director (a Big 4 qualified ACA), the successful candidate will be responsible for ownership of all financial reporting activities, ensuring accurate reporting, robust financial control and risk management for the group companies.

Although, accounting and finance related matters will be the primary focus of the role, it is envisaged that the individual will take on increasing responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial and Management Reporting

  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts
  • Financial oversight of property development projects
  • Preparation of statutory consolidated and individual financial statements
  • Driving and coordinating the budgeting and forecasting working capital process
  • Liaising with auditors and managing the audit process
Finance Transformation & Business Support
  • Ongoing modernisation of the Finance function
  • Assisting with the timely filing of tax and company returns
Process Development and Improvements
  • Continuously improving financial processes
  • Assisting in implementing new financial processes and controls
Management of third-party service providers
  • Developing and managing relationships with bankers, tax and legal advisers
Other
  • Support ongoing project finance and investment related activities
The Candidate

The successful candidate will have all or most of the following attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant from industry or practice, with strong academics, and several years PQE
  • Willing to work on a broad range of tasks, from routine/administrative to complex
  • Strong analytical ability, with excellent numerical skills
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Location & Remuneration

The role is office based in Blackrock, Dublin, on the DART line, with a strong remuneration package to attract the right individual.
