Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Month-End & Revenue management including proactive issue resolution.
  • Conduct margin analysis and support pricing decisions with data insights.
  • Shape business through workforce planning insights and org structure analysis.
  • Oversee forecasting, weekly reporting, and KPI dashboards for leadership.
  • Lead working capital initiatives and advise on deal structuring to optimise cash.
  • Lead or support ad hoc financial analyses for executive decision-making.

Job Description & Summary

We are seeking a commercially astute and analytically driven Finance Business Partner to join our Irish office, supporting the Advisory business of a large global professional services firm. This role is pivotal in driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making, and enhancing operational efficiency across the consulting portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
Month-End & Revenue Management
  • Participate in monthly revenue calls to proactively address issues.
  • Investigate low recovery jobs and missed provisions.
  • Review negative net billable WIP by partner and job to support balance sheet integrity.
  • Analyse inter-service line revenues within the Irish practice.
  • Assess resourcing mix (onshore, offshore, contractors) for cost optimisation.
Margin Analysis
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of engagement margin levels.
  • Evaluate portfolio profitability and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support pricing decisions through detailed margin data analysis.
Shape of Business
  • Analyse financial and HR data to inform hiring and promotion decisions.
  • Provide insights to leadership on workforce planning and business structure.
Forecasting & Reporting
  • Oversee weekly forecasting and pipeline tracking.
  • Monitor job closures and week-to-week financial movements.
  • Manage queries from sector and competency teams.
  • Lead change management for new P&Ls.
  • Supervise production of weekly dashboards and KPI analysis for the CFO.
Working Capital Management
  • Identify and implement process changes to improve cash collection.
  • Advise on deal structuring to enhance working capital outcomes.
Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
  • Lead or support strategic ad hoc analysis to inform executive decision-making.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Experience in a professional services environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and data visualisation tools.
