Job Description & Summary

The Corporate Reporting Services team is a team of specialists within the Assurance practice. As part of the PwC Global CRS virtual network, it aims to deliver expert technical advice to engagement teams regarding the application and interpretation of corporate reporting standards with particular emphasis on IFRS Accounting Standards, Irish and UK GAAP and to support engagement teams in providing quality, consistent and timely professional services to their clients. In addition, the team is focusing on ESG reporting under the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards which is an area of priority across the globe and captures everything businesses do, covering a much wider scope than financial reporting.

As a member of our Corporate Reporting Services team focusing on sustainability reporting, you will have the chance to learn and develop new skills and professional expertise, while contributing to the Firm’s quality service objectives by becoming a trusted subject matter expert to our assurance practice.

The main activities of the role are summarised below:
  • Corporate reporting - provide technical support and advice to assurance (audit and non-audit) client engagement teams on:
  • Complex sustainability reporting topics and matters related to the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRSs) and the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
  • Analysing the consistency of reporting in the financial statements with other corporate reporting by the client.
  • Corporate reporting developments and requirements from Irish, European and global regulators.
  • Participate in the Global CRS network calls, meetings and other activities and have the opportunity to liaise with senior members of the Global team in respect of consultation topics and technical papers.
  • Work on the development of internal practice guides and other material; research and present technical papers and consultations related to financial and sustainability reporting topics.
  • Develop and deliver financial and sustainability reporting training to internal and external audiences. Perform pre-issuance technical reviews of sustainability reports of large clients.
What we are looking for:
  • 8 or more years in audit, technical accounting or similar roles.
  • Hold a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, AIA or equivalent)
  • Practical experience in the application of European Sustainability Reporting Standards and/or IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards will be considered an advantage.
  • Technical expertise or practical experience in the application of sustainability reporting frameworks will be considered an advantage.
  • Ability to understand complex transactions and commercial/ business drivers.
  • Ability to develop solutions based on a sound understanding of facts and research of the relevant material, within a commercially sound framework.
  • Assertive, flexible, proactive, and self-motivated with a desire for learning.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to build trust within teams.
