Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Cork team on a permanent, hybrid basis. You will collaborate with senior leaders, oversee budgeting, forecasting, and governance, and deliver insights that influence strategic decisions.

The successful candidate will bring a professional accounting qualification, 5+ years post-qualification experience, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills to drive performance and commercial outcomes within a growing organisation.

Qualifications

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification with at least five years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance, or Management Accounting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence working alongside senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial planning systems advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence decisions through clear financial insight and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to provide financial guidance and support.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning for Opex and Capex.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure robust forecasting methodologies.
  • Support governance, compliance, and risk management across areas.
  • Deliver meaningful analysis to inform commercial and operational decisions.
  • Contribute to transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial projects and strategic analysis.

Finance Business Partner - Cork - Perm - Hybrid

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Business Partner to join a growing organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial insight, and influencing strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business functions through effective financial planning, reporting, analysis, and governance while contributing to ongoing business improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leaders across business functions to provide financial guidance and support.
  • Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes for operational and capital expenditure.
  • Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve business outcomes.
  • Challenge assumptions within financial plans and ensure robust forecasting methodologies are applied.
  • Support financial governance, compliance, and risk management across assigned business areas.
  • Deliver meaningful financial analysis to support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Contribute to business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial projects and strategic analysis as required.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification with at least five years' post-qualification experience.
  • Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance, or Management Accounting role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence working alongside senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint; experience with financial planning systems is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to influence decisions through clear financial insight and commercial awareness.
