Job summary

Cpl is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service renal dialysis equipment across the West/Southwest of Ireland. The role includes repair, installation planning, and technical training, with travel across Ireland.

The ideal candidate has a technical background in electronic/electrical/ mechanical/biomedical engineering and around 3 years in medical devices, with strong communication skills and a willingness to travel. A company car or car allowance, pension, and health insurance are included.

Qualifications

  • Qualified in electronic / electrical / mechanical / biomedical engineering or similar technical discipline.
  • Approx 3 years experience in medical devices, field based and customer facing role.
  • Strong Computer And Communication Skills Essential.
  • Previous experience in renal technical services (maintenance & repair) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Repair equipment at customer sites, both preventive and corrective.
  • Lead on installation requirements for renal dialysis units.
  • Provide technical support training for products and equipment (local & Germany).
  • Develop and maintain technical competency to work independently.
  • Willingness to learn and embrace emerging technologies in medical devices.
  • Be commercially aware and market oriented.
  • Travel flexibly to customers throughout Ireland (32 counties).
  • Work with team to achieve objectives; assist with spare parts stock and record keeping.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer for the West/Southwest. This is a permanent, full-time role.

Reporting to: Healthcare Technology Manager
In this role your core responsibilities will include:
  • To engage in the technical repair, both preventative and corrective, of equipment at customer sites or other locations.
  • To advise and lead on the installation requirements for a renal dialysis unit.
  • To undertake technical support training (both locally and in Germany) for products and any other relevant equipment.
  • To develop and maintain a level of technical competency to work independently and confidently.
  • Willingness to learn and embrace emerging technologies in the dynamic environment of modern medical devices.
  • To be commercially aware and market orientated.
  • Flexibility to travel to our customers throughout the 32 counties of Ireland.
  • To work as part of a team in the achievement of team/organisational objectives
  • To work with colleagues in the administration of spare parts stock and other record keeping.
  • To work with the team in any other activities which will benefit the team and the customer.

Basic Requirements:
  • Qualified in electronic / electrical / mechanical / biomedical engineering or similar technical discipline.
  • Approx 3 years experience in medical devices, field based and customer facing role.
  • Strong Computer And Communication Skills Essential.
  • Previous experience in renal technical services (maintenance & repair) is desirable.
  • Comfortable working in a clinical setting and interacting with allied health professionals (e.g. nurses, doctors, biomed engineers)
  • Familiar with relevant E.U. Directives for medical devices, e.g. MDR, EN 60601, I.S.O. quality standards.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Flexible to travel regularly throughout Ireland, and further as the need arises.
  • Must have legal status in place to work in Ireland

Salary approx €50k basis, plus 10% bonus, company car or car allowance, pension, health insurance.
