Job summary

Bord Gáis Energy in Ireland seeks a Field Operations Area Manager to oversee end-to-end field operations for a patch covering Dublin or Cork, with hybrid working and a permanent contract.

You will manage heating engineers, service installations, and new products, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and lead a team through KPI delivery, supplier relationships, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing field operations technical teams for the heating industry.
• Expert knowledge of plumbing, gas/oil, and renewables industry with relevant qualifications/registrations.
• Strong technical, reporting, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to train and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Own all field operation elements for patch, engineer capacity planning monthly and in-day, field operative utilisation and operation efficiency.
• Ensure field services align with industry quality and safety guidelines and brand guidelines.
• Deliver KPI-based performance management and manage quarterly incentive plan (QIP).
• Own inventory management for patches and supply chains, safety-based equipment, tools, consumables, and field assets.
• Manage EHS and QA relationships to maximise team efficiency and quality.
• Lead inductions, training and mentoring of operatives; deliver team briefings.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and cost-effectively, including red alerts within 1 hour of escalation.
• Develop and expand Services and Solutions products and sustainability initiatives; drive lean operation.
• Drive expansion of technical capabilities to meet growth targets.
• Embed safety, diversity and inclusivity culture within the team.
