Job summary

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Field Service / Commissioning Engineer for our Dublin-based client in the communications sector. The role involves regular travel across Europe to client sites for deployments, installation and support.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in radio and wireless systems, a Diploma or equivalent, and a full driving licence, with hands-on experience in radio equipment and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory.
• 3rd level Diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
• Proven hands-on experience as radio/system technician with core radio and comms systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure DMR Radio and DAS systems, ensuring proper functionality and integration.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades for radio and system equipment.
• Identify and resolve faults with diagnostic tools to minimize downtime and restore services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess requirements, plan upgrades, and support system expansions.
• Travel within Europe and potentially internationally for deployments, installations and support.
• Maintain records of configurations, maintenance activities and troubleshooting procedures; prepare performance reports.

Job Description A Field Service / Commissioning Engineer –is required by CareerWise Recruitment to join our Dublin based communications systems client. This role involves regular travel to client sites across within Europe.

ROLE

• Install and configure DMR Radio and DAS communication systems, including hardware, software, and associated equipment, ensuring proper functionality and integration with existing systems.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades to radio and system equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Identify and resolve technical issues and faults in radio and communication systems, employing diagnostic tools and techniques to minimize downtime and restore services promptly.
• Collaborate with the strategic business division and other relevant stakeholders to assess system requirements, recommend upgrades, and participate in the planning and implementation of system expansions or improvements.
• Travel to various locations within Europe and potentially internationally for project deployments, installations, and support.
• Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures. Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and recommended solutions.

Job Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory. Able to use computer and program, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, and repair complex communication systems.
• 3 rd level Diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or vocational training in radio systems, electronics, or related fields are preferred.
• Proven experience as a radio technician, system technician, or a similar role, demonstrating hands-on experience with radio and communication systems.
