Job summary

Elk Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Manager – Fresh Food to drive sustainable sales growth in the Munster region. The role focuses on cultivating existing accounts, acquiring new business and expanding product distribution across retail, convenience, and foodservice channels.

You will build strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers while collaborating with marketing, logistics and production teams to deliver growth targets in a field-based, autonomous capacity.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related discipline is desirable.
• 5+ years' experience in food sales, FMCG or related commercial environment.
• Experience in retail, convenience and/or foodservice would be advantageous.
• Proven track record developing existing accounts and generating new business.
• Strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage a large geographical sales territory independently.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Grow and develop existing customer accounts.
• Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across retail, convenience, foodservice and other channels.
• Increase product listings, SKUs and formats and present new products to customers.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, NPD, Logistics, Production and Administration teams.
• Provide timely feedback from customers to support product development and commercial decisions.
• Maintain territory plans, coverage and call cycles to maximise performance.
