Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain a safe, efficient site and support building systems across our Ireland site.

You will coordinate contractor activities, manage preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. The role offers hands-on work with autonomy and opportunities to contribute to the smooth running of the facility, including equipment installations and space setups.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related technical role.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and basic technical drawings.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, doors, and general building infrastructure.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, equipment faults, and emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to site operations.
• Troubleshoot building and equipment issues, implementing effective corrective actions and preventative maintenance solutions.
• Perform general facilities work including painting, basic carpentry, minor construction tasks, space setups, and equipment installations.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
