Position Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and efficient operation of all hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems. As a key leader in a newly launched property, the Facilities Manager ensures the hotel’s physical environment meets the highest standards of comfort, aesthetics, and reliability expected by luxury guests. This role oversees maintenance strategy, contractor management, sustainability initiatives, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Foster a culture of excellence, safety, and proactive problem-solving.
• Collaborate closely with hotel leadership to support operational and guest-service goals.

2. Facilities & Maintenance Operations

• Oversee the proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, fire safety, elevators, and other critical building systems.
• Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend the life of equipment.
• Ensure timely repairs in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and hotel grounds with minimal disruption to guests.
• Manage capital improvement projects, renovations, and equipment installations.
• Source, evaluate, and oversee external contractors and service providers, ensuring service-quality standards are met.
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements within approved budgets.
• Ensure full compliance with all building codes, fire regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental laws.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Lead emergency response planning, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and disaster preparedness.

5. Sustainability & Energy Management

• Develop and implement energy-efficiency and sustainability initiatives aligned with luxury brand standards.
• Monitor consumption of utilities, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and optimize energy performance.
• Support corporate social responsibility goals and green hotel certifications

6. Budget & Asset Management

• Prepare and manage the engineering department’s annual operating and capital budgets.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and critical spare parts.
• Forecast long‑term maintenance needs and lifecycle plans for major assets.
