Job summary

EirGrid Group in Ireland seeks a seasoned Facilities Manager to lead safe, resilient and sustainable facilities and workplace services across locations. You will ensure environments and critical systems support current and future operational needs, governance, and strategic objectives.

You will provide strong technical advice, guide internal and external resources, and drive continuous improvement, compliance and cost-effective service delivery across the function.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification (Level 8 or equivalent) in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, Property Management or a related discipline.
• Available to be onsite up to 5 days per week.
• Typically seven or more years’ relevant experience, including facilities or engineering services in a complex environment.
• Experience developing and implementing facilities, workplace, asset management or infrastructure strategies.
• Proven accountability for significant operational and capital budgets, contracts and investment planning.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing delivery through external providers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the facilities and workplace service model across EirGrid locations.
• Establish service standards, performance measures and governance arrangements.
• Develop medium- and long-term facilities, maintenance and asset lifecycle plans.
• Lead refurbishment and fit-out programmes, with accountability for scope, cost, quality, risk and delivery.
• Drive service transformation and continuous improvement for value-for-money outcomes.
• Provide strategic oversight of engineering and critical infrastructure systems, ensuring capacity and resilience.
• Own the lifecycle management of critical assets and inform investment priorities.
• Lead facilities-related risk, compliance and assurance arrangements.
• Act as the senior technical authority for facilities risks and mitigation.
• Own emergency preparedness, incident management and corrective action arrangements.
• Own the commercial and performance management of facilities contracts and budgets.
• Build strategic relationships with stakeholders, regulators and advisers.
• Provide authoritative advice to senior management on facilities strategy and investment decisions.
• Lead and allocate resources with a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
