Job summary

BCD Meetings & Events in Ireland and Dublin is seeking an Events Team Manager / Operations Manager to lead a high-performing Life Sciences events team, plan and deliver meetings, congress activity and HCP engagement programs in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

You will split time between leading the team and hands-on event delivery, ensuring compliance, budgets, and brand guidelines while maintaining client focus. Some travel evenings and weekends may be required.

• Experience leading teams in Life Sciences events or congress activity.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines and compliance controls.
• Strong client and stakeholder relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop teams, balance workloads and grow staff.
• Manage Life Sciences meetings from kickoff to closeout with timelines and budgets.
• Build strong client relationships in onsite, high-touch environments.
• Handle venue sourcing, contracting and attendee management with accuracy.
• Improve processes and ensure SOPs, SLAs and KPIs are met.

About the Role

Love leading people and bringing events to life? This Events Team Manager / Operations Manager role supports a Life Sciences client in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where compliance, precision, and collaboration really matter. You’ll split your time between leading a high-performing team and rolling up your sleeves to plan and deliver impactful meetings, congress activity, and HCP engagement programs. If you’re energised by client-facing work, operational excellence, and making every detail count, you’ll fit right in.

• Leading and developing teams, balancing workloads, and helping people grow in a structured, results-driven environment


• Managing Life Sciences meetings and events from kick off to closeout while keeping timelines, budgets, compliance controls, and brand guidelines on track


• Building strong client and stakeholder relationships, especially in onsite, high-touch environments where responsiveness and trust are everything


• Handling venue sourcing, contracting, attendee management, room blocks, and event technology tools like Cvent with accuracy and confidence


• Improving processes, solving problems quickly, and keeping SOPs, SLAs, KPIs, and audit-ready standards front and centre

You Might Also Have

• Experience supporting a Life Sciences client and working across HCP engagement, advisory boards, congress activity, or medical education programs


• Confidence using tools like Veeva Events and Concur to support registration, reconciliation, expense tracking, and Transfer of Value data accuracy


• Experience of leading and supporting a geographically distributed team


• Strong analytical skills that help you manage budgets, monitor performance, and spot opportunities to improve service delivery


• Fluency in English, written and spoken


• A calm, solution-oriented approach when priorities shift and multiple deadlines are moving at once

You Should Know

• This role is based in Ireland and has a requirement to work 3-days per week in our client offices in central Dublin.


• Full time role Monday – Friday, which will also require travel onsite to events on occasion which may include evenings and weekends


• You must hold the relevant Rights to Work in Ireland


• Your team will be remote based across EMEA

We carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your professional background and experience. The salary range for candidates in Dublin is Euros 52,000 - Euros 64,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience, geographical location, and project budget .
