Job summary

ALS Minerals seeks a Work Order Entry Assistant to join the Work Order Entry Department at the European hub lab in Loughrea, Co. Galway. You will write, check and submit work orders, coordinate with client teams and managers, and ensure timely and accurate WO creation.

The role requires an evening shift, basic to advanced computer skills, and the ability to multitask across sample preparation and shipping processes. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent.
• Ability to work evening shift is a key requirement for this role.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Minimum of 1 year operational experience.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized, detail orientated, and highly motivated.

Responsibilities

• Enter samples on GEMs by writing, checking and submitting work orders.
• Clarify details with the client or managers as needed (analysis, price, inconsistencies).
• Ensure work orders are written promptly with adequate sheets for all shifts.
• Assist management in achieving targets for quality and turnaround time (TAT).
• Coordinate with sample prep and weighing to align on schedules.
• Prioritize work and manage sample priorities across departments.
• Arrange for over-limit and additional analyses as required.
• Coordinate cross-lab communication and shipments of samples.
• Ensure correct procedures are used and safety procedures are followed.
• Attend required training and perform administrative duties as needed.
