Job summary

Fpna in Galway, a multinational software company, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller for European entities. You will own the UK and German entity close processes and provide insights into cost and revenue drivers, influencing budgeting and forecasting.

Reporting to the EMEA Finance Director, you will partner with Controllers, Marketing, IT and Facilities to deliver accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and tax returns, with a mature hybrid working policy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE including multi-entity financial accounting and reporting in a large-scale company.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership for monthly, quarterly and year-end close for the UK and German entities.
• Go beyond the numbers to create a narrative around variance drivers which impact forecasting.
• Provide the financial information to prepare the financial statements for both entities, working with a Big 4 firm to bring them to completion.
• Manage the audit process for the UK and German entities, liaise with auditors, provide supporting detail and rationale for accounting treatment.
• Deliver accurate statutory accounting under local UK and German GAAP.
• Prepare local VAT, corporation tax and other statutory tax returns with the assistance of an external tax advisory firm.
• Build relationships with operational heads to understand aims, financial position, upcoming revenue and spend.
• Review and improve close processes, utilise Oracle ERP to its fullest to eliminate manual work, especially at peak close times.
