Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Europe is building the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) and seeks experienced systems engineers to lead automation and operations for EU customers. As part of the AWS Managed Operations team, you will build and lead operations and development squads delivering high-availability services for EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock.

Qualifications

• Be a national of an EU member state and reside in the EU to operate the ESC.
• Experience as a systems engineer across hardware, software, networking and operating systems.
• Scripting experience in Bash, Python or Ruby.
• Strong Linux and networking troubleshooting skills.
• Lead creation, revision and improvement of SOPs and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the launch and ongoing operations of the European Sovereign Cloud.
• Collaborate with global AWS teams to improve availability, latency and performance.
• Develop and test automation scripts and provide actionable incident reports.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to ensure resilience and reliability.
