Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Systems Development Engineer to design, implement and maintain enterprise-scale services across Amazonians. You will work on serverless components and automation, building self-service solutions to increase productivity and reliability.

The role emphasizes design, coding, and hands-on engineering in an enterprise environment, with after-hours paging for high-severity incidents and a focus on scalable, secure infrastructure across global teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals.
• Non-internship experience in professional software development.
• Experience designing or architecting systems with reliability and scaling.
• Hands-on experience with networking, storage, OS and systems engineering.
• Programming in at least one language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise-scale services used across Amazon.
• Develop scripts or tools to automate infrastructure and service management.
• Support and operate serverless components (e.g., DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway).
• Participate in after-hours paging for high-severity events as needed.
