Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is introducing the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). We are seeking experienced systems engineers with automation and operations expertise to build and lead operation and development teams delivering high-availability AWS services for EU customers.

This role involves coordinating with global AWS teams, shaping service evolution, and contributing to day-to-day operations. On-call rotations are required, and the focus is reliability, performance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• EU citizenship and legal resident in EU.
• Experience in systems engineering across hardware, software, networking and OS.
• Scripting experience in Bash, Python, or Ruby.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud in 2025 with global AWS teams.
• Improve availability, reliability, latency, performance and efficiency of services.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and incident resolution.
• Develop and test automation scripts and SOPs; mentor teams.
