Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited is seeking experienced systems engineers to lead the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) operations and automation efforts. You will work with AWS teams to deliver high-availability services, including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, for EU customers, and participate in on-call rotations as part of a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Fluent English (written and spoken) is required.
• EU nationality and EU residence are required to operate the ESC.
• Relocation support will be provided for successful EU relocations.
• On-call rotations are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ongoing operations and expansion of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC).
• Collaborate with global AWS teams to improve availability, reliability, latency, and performance.
• Occasionally participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents outside normal hours.
• Develop and test scripts to enhance workflows and automation.
• Educate service teams about the ESC and share insights to improve operations.
