Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin seeks an experienced systems engineer to lead automation and operations for the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). You will build, operate, and scale high-availability services across EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock for EU customers.

You will work with global AWS teams, own on-call rotations, and drive continuous improvements in availability, latency, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
• Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
• Experience in Systems engineering, site reliability engineering, building and operating systems at scale.
• This role requires you to be a national of an EU member state.
• Able to lead the creation, revision, and/or improvement of SOPs and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the ongoing operations and expansion of the ESC within the EU.
• Collaborate with global AWS teams to evolve services and technology.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, latency, and performance of ESC.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and incident resolution.
• Develop and test automation scripts to improve workflows.
• Educate service teams on the European Sovereign Cloud.
