Job summary

AWS is hiring a systems engineer to lead operations of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) from Ireland. You will build and operate high-availability services for EU customers, with a focus on automation and scalable operations across EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock.

In this role you will collaborate with global AWS teams, participate in on-call rotations, and drive improvements in availability, latency, and efficiency while expanding ESC capabilities for EU jurisdictions.

Qualifications

Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
This role requires you to be a national of an EU member state.

Responsibilities

Oversee ongoing operations and expansion of ESC, collaborating with global AWS teams.
Ensure high availability, reliability, latency, and performance of ESC for EU customers.
Occasionally participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents outside business hours.
Develop and test automation scripts to improve workflows.
Educate service teams on European Sovereign Cloud concepts and practices.
