Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness with numerical and analytical skills.
• Experience with estimating or take-off software desirable.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Full clean driving licence.

Your New Job

As Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations and managing the tender process from initial enquiry through to project award. This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Midlands, reporting to senior management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Produce accurate pricing for materials, labour, subcontractors and associated project costs.
• Source and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit tenders, cost breakdowns and supporting documentation within deadlines.
• Attend tender meetings and site visits where required.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to enhance competitiveness.
• Support smooth handover of successful projects to the delivery team.
• Price variations and additional works throughout project lifecycles.
• Maintain estimating records, supplier pricing and cost databases.
• Review tender outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement.

What Are We Looking For?

• Ideally 2+ estimating experience within construction, manufacturing or a related industry.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Experience using estimating or take-off software is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full clean driving licence.
