Job summary

Vickerstock is seeking an Estimator in Dublin to join a growing commercial team working on major residential developments. You will support pre-contract quantity surveying services from feasibility through to detailed cost planning and budgeting, in collaboration with Senior Estimators and internal stakeholders.

You will contribute to cost projection accuracy, assist with BoQs, and help ensure commercial viability of design decisions within a high-profile residential developer environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a PQS consultancy or developer environment.
• Qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with Buildsoft-Cubit, CostX or equivalent estimating/cost planning software.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Methodical and accurate approach to work.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of cost plans from early feasibility through to detailed cost planning.
• Support the Senior Estimator in projecting construction costs across development stages.
• Participate in design team meetings and relay commercial information to the Senior Cost Planner.
• Provide cost and benchmarking data to influence design, layouts, unit types and materials.
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure budgets align with market expectations.
• Take-off quantities and assist with Bills of Quantities preparation.
• Interpret BoQs to provide working documents and budgets for project and site teams.
• Maintain and develop construction cost databases for future estimates and appraisals.
• Support preparation and submission of Part V applications.
• Coordinate with external PQS consultants on project budgets and BoQs.
• Attend project meetings and site visits as required.

The Role
We are working with a leading residential developer on an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join their growing commercial team in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience within a PQS consultancy or developer environment to develop their career within a high-profile organisation and contribute to major residential developments.
Working closely with the Senior estimator, you will support the delivery of pre-contract quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle from early feasibility and acquisition through design development and detailed cost planning.

What you will need

• Previous experience within a PQS consultancy or developer environment (at least 3+ years)
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with Buildsoft-Cubit, CostX or equivalent estimating/cost planning software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively to deadlines.
• A methodical and accurate approach to your work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
