Job summary

Hunter Savage is seeking an experienced Estimator for its Dublin office to prepare accurate, analytical estimates for selected tenders on major projects. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will analyse documentation, compile quantities and price tenders, and assess pre-tender quotes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as an Estimator on large projects.
• Strong grasp of construction methods, legislation and project logistics.
• Excellent attention to detail with analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse tender documentation and compile material and subcontract enquiries.
• Prepare builders' quantities and schedules, and price tenders accurately.
• Assess pre-tender quotes for competitiveness, compliance and accuracy.
• Attend tender interviews and meetings as required.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

We are hiring for our client, a respected construction contractor, to appoint an experienced Estimator to their Dublin office. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful Estimator will compile accurate, analytical estimates for selected tenders on major projects. The Role:

• Analyse tender documentation and compile material and subcontract enquiries
• Prepare builders' quantities and schedules, and price tenders accurately
• Assess pre-tender quotes for competitiveness, compliance and accuracy
• Highlight S106 clauses to relevant stakeholders
• Attend tender interviews, workshops and pre-start meetings as required
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, and mentor colleagues

The Person:

• 3+ years' experience as an Estimator on projects over £15M+
• HNC / HND / Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline
• Strong grasp of construction methods, legislation and project logistics
• Skilled at interpreting specifications, reports and drawings
• Good working knowledge of Conquest Estimating Software and Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and communication skills
• Eligible to work in the UK and Ireland; driving licence held
• Desirable: CIOB accreditation, CSR Card / Safe Pass, contract law knowledge
