Job summary

Elk Recruitment is seeking an Estimator to join our client’s growing team in Citywest, West Dublin. You will analyse specifications, prepare cost estimates, and develop detailed take-offs to help ensure project profitability.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather data and deliver competitive bids. The role requires strong mathematical skills, the ability to read technical drawings, and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in estimating, preferably fit out or main contracting.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail with high accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry standards and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Analyse project specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.

• Prepare itemized cost breakdowns including labour, materials, and equipment.

• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Support project teams during the post-bid phase and address any estimation-related queries.

Your new role includes:

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulations
