Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking an Estates Officer within its Estates Department to cover NHSH at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The role focuses on managing breakdowns, coordinating small projects, and arranging for contractors or in-house trades teams to carry out maintenance safely.

The post may require travel to sites across the NHSH region and occasional on-call duties. The successful candidate will demonstrate team leadership, a valid driving licence, and relevant qualifications, with healthcare

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team and coordinating contractors.
• Current UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience in a health care environment is advantageous.
• A self-motivated team player with flexible approach to work and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team and coordinate contractors to deliver maintenance work safely.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and plan small-scale projects.
• Arrange for in-house trades or external contractors as required.
• Support a 1:6 on-call rota and travel to NHSH sites as needed.

At NHS Highland we have a full-time vacancy within our Estates Department for an Estates Officer to coverNHSH at Raigmore Hospital.

The successful candidateenthusiastic and motivatedindividualable to react and think quickly on how to deal with breakdowns within the NHSH Estate, manage small scale projects and efficiently arrange for contractors or in house trades teams to carry out maintenance work safely.The post is primarily based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, there may be times where the post holder may be required to travel to sites all over NHSH region.Theposition will requireeffective management and prioritisation tocontribute to the provision of excellent patient care.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience of managing a team and Contractors.
• A current UK driving licence is essential.
• Applicants must have a recognisedqualifications as detailed in the job description.
• Experience within a health care environment would beadvantageous.
• A great teamplayer who is self-motivated.
• A flexible approach to work is essential as variations to the standard working week may be necessaryand willing toparticipatein the 1:6 on-call rota.
