Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking an Estates Officer for the Estates Department to cover NHSH at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. The role focuses on leading the estates team, coordinating contractors, and ensuring safe maintenance across NHSH sites.

You may travel to sites within the NHSH region and support patient care through effective problem-solving. The ideal candidate has experience in managing teams and contractors, a valid UK driving licence, and an understanding of healthcare environments;

  • A flexible approach to work and on-call involvement is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance work, address breakdowns and coordinate priorities.
  • Coordinate contractors or in-house trades teams to carry out tasks safely.
  • Travel to NHSH sites as required and manage scheduling.
  • Prioritise work to maintain high standards of patient care.

At NHS Highland we have a full-time vacancy within our Estates Department for an Estates Officer to coverNHSH at Raigmore Hospital.

The successful candidateenthusiastic and motivatedindividualable to react and think quickly on how to deal with breakdowns within the NHSH Estate, manage small scale projects and efficiently arrange for contractors or in house trades teams to carry out maintenance work safely.The post is primarily based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, there may be times where the post holder may be required to travel to sites all over NHSH region.Theposition will requireeffective management and prioritisation tocontribute to the provision of excellent patient care.

What We Are Looking For
  • Experience of managing a team and Contractors.
  • A current UK driving licence is essential.
  • Applicants must have a recognisedqualifications as detailed in the job description.
  • Experience within a health care environment would beadvantageous.
  • A great teamplayer who is self-motivated.
  • A flexible approach to work is essential as variations to the standard working week may be necessaryand willing toparticipatein the 1:6 on-call rota.
