Job summary

Dell Technologies in Ireland seeks a Technical Support Engineer for Dell Compute (PowerEdge & Modular). You will diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, perform remote troubleshooting, and ensure timely case closure for business-critical environments.

You will work with iDRAC, Lifecycle Controller, and SupportAssist to drive root-cause analysis, coordinate parts when needed, and collaborate with escalation teams to improve solutions.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of server hardware components (CPU, memory, disks, RAID, power/cooling).
• Knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distros).
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Structured, analytical troubleshooting approach to problems.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills for B2B environments.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on PowerEdge and Modular servers for enterprise B2B customers via phone, chat, and remote sessions.
• Utilize Dell diagnostic tools such as iDRAC, Lifecycle Controller, SupportAssist Enterprise, and Dell online diagnostics to identify root causes.
• Manage case workload and ensure documentation and resolution within SLA/service contracts.
• Coordinate parts dispatch and engage field engineers when on-site replacement is required.
• Collaborate with escalation teams and cross-functional groups to resolve complex issues and contribute to knowledge base.
