Job summary

Google Ireland Ltd. is hiring an Engineering Manager for AlphaNet Core SRE. You will lead a team operating Google's SDN architecture across campus and wide-area networks, driving improvements in safety and new product introductions.

You will guide SDN stack contributions, improve incident tooling, and oversee Tier-1 emergency responses and root-cause analyses. The role focuses on scalability, reliability, and performance at scale, with opportunities to mentor engineers and automate complex

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field (Bachelor's required).
• 8+ years in software development with multiple languages.
• 3+ years designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• 3+ years managing people or teams and leading projects.
• Master's degree preferred; experience with networking and large-scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Software/Systems Engineers on projects for users and ensure uptime.
• Own end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build automation.
• Automate responses to non-exceptional service conditions.
• Mentor the team and manage on-call rotations and incident responses.
