Job summary

Gong is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Communications Capture team in our Dublin R&D hub. The role leads backend and frontend engineers, shaping roadmaps and delivering scalable data pipelines that ingest customer interactions from emails, calendars, and calls.

You will coach, hire, and grow engineers while collaborating with Product Managers to align technical decisions with product goals. A strong track record in cloud-based systems and Java is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience leading and growing teams.
• Proven experience as a senior software engineer.
• Strong background in large-scale, cloud-based web apps.
• Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (advantage).
• Experience with user-facing products (advantage).
• Degree in computer science or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
• Passion for motivating, mentoring and cultivating people.

Gong is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager - dedicated to developing our Communications Capture team. This is a new team being built in our Dublin R&D hub.

The Comms Capture team is responsible for Gong’s core data

The data pipeline that ingests and capture customer’s interactions from external communication systems (emails, calendars, phone/web conferencing calls, texts). These pipelines are online, are used by all of the company’s customers, and forms the basis for a wide range of Gong’s products. serving thousands of customers and constantly impacting Gong’s user base to become raving fans of our product.

As the Manager, you will:

• Lead and expand a growing team of backend and frontend engineers.
• Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Managers to shape the team’s roadmap, balancing both product goals and engineering priorities.
• Lead by example, driving continuous improvement and optimization of the team’s products and infrastructure.
• Design and architect long-term technical solutions that deliver a significant impact on both our wide platform and customers.
• Coach, mentor, hire, and grow individuals on the team to reach their full potential.

• Proven industry experience as a Senior software engineer.
• Strong technical background focusing on large-scale, cloud-based web applications.
• Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (advantage).

• Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
