Job summary

Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny is seeking an Engineering Lead to drive advanced injection‑moulding and reel‑to‑reel metal stamping with global partners. You will own high‑impact projects, shape manufacturing processes, and ensure robust quality and scale‑up to higher volumes.

This role requires 8+ years in engineering, strong GD&T and metrology expertise, and proven leadership of cross‑functional teams. A degree in engineering is required, with master’s being a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Polymer/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field; Master’s is a plus.
• 8+ years in engineering or operations with injection moulding, tooling or high‑volume manufacturing.
• Experience with die design, tolerance analysis, blank development and spring‑back.
• Proven success qualifying tooling using FAI, capability studies and tool transfer methods.
• Experience with injection mould tooling suppliers and FAT/validation activities.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and metrology fixture qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and project‑manage third‑party manufacturers for injection‑moulding and stamping solutions.
• Define requirements, evaluate technologies, and oversee equipment qualification.
• Drive tooling and moulding activities at supplier sites to ensure smooth production start‑up.
• Lead design/specification, purchase and qualification of mould tools and related equipment.
• Manage metrology method development and ensure GD&T compliance.
