Job summary

Collins McNicholas Group is seeking an Energy & Sustainability Lead to join a global pharmaceutical leader in Sligo on a permanent basis. You will helm site-wide energy management, align with sustainability strategies and drive capital projects from concept through to completion.

You will bring 5+ years in project engineering within pharma, strong ISO 50001 experience, and excellent stakeholder engagement to collaborate with Global Engineering and Sustainability teams to meet corporate targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5 years’ experience in a Project Engineering role with at least 3 years’ relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven experience in project management, energy management and the delivery of energy-related capital projects.
• Knowledge of commissioning and validation, equipment reliability and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with energy management systems and ISO 50001 would be beneficial.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead site-wide energy management activities, ensuring alignment with site and corporate sustainability strategies.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 50001, including audit preparation, external audits and ongoing improvement of the energy management system.
• Drive energy awareness and engagement across the site, promoting a culture of energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Forecast energy demand and support annual financial planning and energy procurement activities.
• Monitor, analyse and report energy performance, cost savings and improvement initiatives to site and corporate stakeholders.
• Develop long-range capital plans for energy projects, including feasibility studies, technical assessments and capital expenditure proposals.
• Lead energy and engineering projects from concept through execution and completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, equipment reliability and operational performance through innovative engineering solutions.
• Work closely with EHS and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet all safety, environmental, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Manage external contractors, service providers and contracts, ensuring effective delivery and value for money.
• Collaborate with Global Engineering and Sustainability teams to deliver strategic initiatives, share best practice and achieve corporate targets.
