Job description

Full-Time | On-Site | Relocation & Sponsorship Provided

Climeaction is looking for an experienced Senior Energy Engineer or Energy Manager based in Ireland who is ready for a move to sunny Florida.

This is a unique opportunity to relocate to Jacksonville, Florida, with full company sponsorship and relocation support, and take ownership of energy management at a major medical device manufacturing facility.

Rather than operating purely as a project engineer, you will act as the embedded Energy Manager for the site, leading Climeaction’s Climate Action as a Service (CAaaS) program and becoming the go-to person for energy performance, utility optimisation and decarbonisation.

You will work directly with the site's engineering, facilities and leadership teams, supported by Climeaction’s wider team of energy, engineering and decarbonisation specialists in Ireland and the US.

The Role

You will take day-to-day ownership of the site's energy management programme, identifying opportunities, driving projects forward and ensuring that energy performance remains a visible and actively managed part of site operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own and drive the site's overall energy management programme.

  • Develop a deep understanding of how energy is being used across the facility and identify where performance can be improved.

  • Monitor and optimise major utilities including HVAC, chillers, boilers, compressed air, steam, hot water, pumping systems and other significant energy users.

  • Analyse utility and sub-metering data, establish baselines, identify abnormal consumption and track energy performance.

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of technically and financially viable energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects.

  • Lead projects from initial opportunity identification through business case development, implementation, commissioning and savings verification.

  • Work directly with operators, maintenance teams, facilities engineers, project engineers and site leadership to turn opportunities into measurable results.

  • Establish and track site energy KPIs, targets and performance dashboards.

  • Lead structured energy management activities aligned with ISO 50001 principles.

  • Support measurement and verification of completed projects and demonstrate realised energy and cost savings.

  • Identify relevant utility rebates, grants and incentive opportunities.

  • Provide clear monthly reporting and updates to site and Climeaction leadership.

  • Help embed a strong culture of energy performance and continuous improvement across the facility.

  • Experience identifying and developing energy improvement opportunities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

  • The confidence to work independently and take ownership within a large manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with everyone from operators and maintenance teams through to senior management.

Experience with ISO 50001, IPMVP, energy auditing, utility optimisation, industrial decarbonisation or utility incentive programmes would be advantageous.
