Job summary

St. Michael’s House in Dublin is seeking a Direct Support Worker to join our Local Centres in North Dublin.

The role involves supporting people with intellectual disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living, and helping individuals engage with the community. You will work as part of a skilled team, adhere to HIQA regulations, and contribute to personal planning and positive behaviour support plans.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience supporting individuals with intellectual disability.
• Experience supporting behaviours that challenge and working within a clinically led support plan.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support each person to communicate and work with social care staff to enable informed decisions.
• Contribute to monitoring outcomes identified in personal planning processes.
• Identify supports and partner with individual, family, and other supports per plans.
• Understand autism-friendly environments and Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
